AVID, as a system that embeds evidence based strategies, changes the expectations of what students believe they are capable of achieving. Through a strong focus on the ‘how’ of learning, AVID scaffolds the development of the skills, habits and behaviours needed for long term student success. All students build on their strategies for ‘how’ to learn effectively, develop a growth mindset, set goals for themselves and learn how to attain them through their own work and determination.
